Music & Medicine T2B Program
The "Music and Medicine" program in Windsor, Ontario was established in 2003 to help build a foundation for the inclusion of music therapy in oncology and palliative care units in the area hospitals. At inception, the program involved both undergraduate students in music therapy and musicians from the Windsor Symphony Orchestra providing joint music and medicine sessions to individuals receiving either inpatient cancer or palliative care treatments.
The program has changed considerably over the years, and has evolved into a team of symphony musicians providing individual music visits and a music therapist providing clinical music therapy sessions. The program has graciously been funded since 2003 by the Transition to Betterness Foundation and is voluntarily overseen and supervised by Notes By Amy Director, Amy Clements‑Cortes.
