Course Overview: Self-Study - 10 CMTE Credits

This CMTE will provide an understanding of what supervision encompasses, the nature of the supervisory relationship, supervisor developmental phases, approaches to supervision, essential supervisor skills and tips on mentoring and coaching. Upon completion, participants will have the skills necessary to supervise both undergraduate and graduate students as well as newly credentialed therapists. Format (Self-Study Course)

A person may register at any time to take the course. Once registration and payment have been received, participants will receive an e-mailed copy of the course materials along with the list of assignments.

Assignments & Grading

Assignments are submitted via e-mail attachments to the instructor at the participant’s own pace; they are ungraded and brief. The assignment list provides instructions on how to review the course materials and complete each assignment and feedback will be provided by the instructor via e-mail. In order to successfully earn the CMTE credits, participants must complete all assignments fittingly. When an assignment is missing key information, understanding, or insight, the instructor will follow-up with the participant to offer assistance while ensuring assignment completion, and understanding of the course concepts.

  • Registration and Fees: $100 USD. Students must complete the course within 6 months of registration, or will need to re-register to earn the CMTE credits.
  • Certificate
    Upon completion of the course and assignments, participants will receive a certificate stating they have earned 10 CMTE credits.
  • Cancellation and Refund Policy
    Persons may cancel and receive a refund prior to the materials being emailed to them. Once payment is received and materials are emailed to participants there are no refunds.
  • Statement of Relationship
    Internship Supervision Course, Level One: “Supervision Basics” is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for 10 CMTEs. The CBMT Approved Provider, Notes By Amy, P-104 maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CMBT policies and criteria.
